JAI JUNGLE — A Journey Rooted in Forest Wisdom

Organic Growth of a Tribal Women-led Forest Enterprise

2015 – Farming

We began by farming and collaborating with Self Help Groups, initiating MFP activities to better understand the land, its culture and its tribal roots. Once aware of its value, Samarth began his research journey on this underexplored flower.

2019 – The Spark

Mahua has been largely untapped in nutrition, with limited use in food products that often lacked quality and taste. Samarth saw the need to reintroduce Mahua and showcase its health benefits and potential as a quality food ingredient.

2020 – Tech to Tribal Women

Production was gradually shifted to SHGs at the Van Dhan Kendra, where tribal women took complete charge of the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution processes & leading the operations independently. Ensure quality & ownership from early stage.

2021 - Challenges & Formalization

SHGs faced multiple barriers market access, licensing hurdles, and challenges in scaling operations — which eventually led to the official formation of Jai Jungle as FPC in 2021 to streamline efforts, enable legal trade, and ensure collective growth.

District-Wide Growth (2021–23)

We partnered with SHGs across Jashpur, standardized recipes, built strong operational systems, & trained women through workshops, peer sessions, hands-on workshops, & mentorship to ensure consistent quality & empowered participation.

2023–25 – Scale & Innovation

We launched a range of new forest-based products, improved community nutrition, strengthened branding efforts, and enhanced local infrastructure — all aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods and accelerating the growth of the tribal forest economy.

Heritage Meets Curiosity

Through his deep explorations into both Ayurveda and modern science, Samarth uncovered the remarkable potential of the Mahua flower. Rich in micronutrients, natural sugars, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds, Mahua stood out as a powerful yet overlooked natural resource. What made it even more exceptional was its inherent quality — vegan, gluten-free, and diabetic-friendly. Despite its incredible health benefits and versatility, Mahua remained largely untapped in mainstream nutrition and wellness. Samarth knew it was time to reintroduce it to the world. He knew then: Mahua needed to be reintroduced to the world.
